The corrugated boxes are light weight and is used for transportation and works as a protective layer for your products. Corrugated box is made of a Flute and liner (PLY). Flute is available in different wall thicknesses (A-Flute, B-Flute, C-Flute, E-Flute, F-Flute) and most commonly used is C-Flute, E-Flute and F-Flute. Liner (PLY) can be of 2 ply, 3 ply, 5 ply, 7 ply or more as per the requirement.

The ply value in corrugated boxes refers to the number of layers of corrugated material used to make the box. Corrugated boxes are made up of three layers – an inner liner, an outer liner, and a corrugated medium between the two liners. The corrugated medium is what gives the box its strength and stability.

How many types of corrugated box are there?

As per the requirement, corrugated box can be made up of 3 ply, 5 ply, 7 ply or more.

· 3-ply boxes are made up of three layers of paper, which provides them with increased strength and durability compared to other packaging solutions.

· 5 ply is a term used for double wall corrugated fiber sheet. It consists of a single top liner, a double groove middle liner and a double back liner. It is chosen based on the packaging application and other factors such as the characteristics of the shipment. Typically used for heavier products requiring stacking

7-ply corrugated box is a cardboard box made of seven layers of paperboard material. The box consists of three layers of paperboard, two layers of corrugated medium, and two layers of liner board.
